New Cedar Deck with Privacy Wall and Trex Rain Escape
The existing deck on this house was previously painted and started to rot and also wasn’t very stable. We decided to do a complete tear off and rebuild the same size deck. It was on a town house so we also needed some privacy walls. We used Cedar Decking and Cedar Post Rail with Cedar 2×2 Spindles. Then the wall was also made of cedar with a cedar lattice above. Also to expand the outdoor living space, we decided to install an under deck system to keep below the walk-out deck dry when it rains. The under-deck system we chose was Trex Rain Escape which is installed between the joists before the decking is installed. Then a gutter is installed on the beam to direct the water out into the yard away from the deck. The homeowners love the deck and now can enjoy outdoor living on the deck and below the deck for many years to come!!
