Metal Roof over Deck
This house is less than a year old and through the first summer, the homeowner decided his deck which faces west gets too much sun and is often too hot on the deck and also can feel the heat come in the sliding door into the dining room. We then decided to build a pergola for shade purposes. They also wanted one more change, which was he wanted it to be rain proof. So we then decided to be budget conscious and build a pergola with a 3:12 slope (shed roof), then install Metal Steel Sheet Roofing panels. To add some decorative custom pieces to the roof, we did some rounded cuts on the end of the joists, then added Ozco Decorative Fasteners to the post/beam connections. The homeowner now can enjoy the deck during the hot sun as well as when it rains. More time to enjoy the outdoor space of his new home. They will enjoy it for years!!
