Timbertech Deck w Planters and Pergola
This original deck was just a simple wood 12×12 deck that faces the South side of the house which was always in the sun. The homeowners were looking for the following for their deck project: Homeowners would like to spend more time outside without being in the hot sun, they are watching their grandchild so they needed more room, did not want to have to worry about staining and maintaining their deck, likes are an area to put potted plants, and wanted a design that could allow a patio with a possible fire pit in the future. From this info, we designed and built a deck that resolved all of this. We built a larger deck of 18×14 for much more spacious room to enjoy the outdoors via the deck. The deck is made to be low maintenance from Timbertech’s PVC Capped Composite Decking (Terrain Series – Silver Maple) w/ Timbertech’s Radiance Railing (White w/ Black Spindles). We then added a cedar pergola for shade so they can enjoy and not be in the hot sun. The design came with 2 planter boxes/benches so they can be used for decorative plants as well as a place to sit if needed. The wider stairs was for the kids to easily come on and off the deck while playing and could also be used for the future patio with a fire pit. Last we did add some deck riser lights to accent and safety reasons for the deck steps. This deck project turned out great and will get a lot of use!!
